Please do not buy or rent flats in the Vista Building in Woolwich Arsenal.

8 Burglary incidents took place in the last 2 weeks, and numerous in last few months. The burglary squad in Plumstead Police station is currently investigating the incidents.

I live in the vista building and my flat has been burglared a week ago, i lost everything valuable i had. i am completely devastated by this incident. Moreover, i had no insurance.

I blame my landlord and the building management for this, for inadequate security. The landlord failed to provide extra lock after asking repeatedly.

There is a concierge in the building but complete useless and most of the time not available. the 11 storey building with 3 wings and over 200 flats has only 6 cctv cameras, and that does not cover all exits. The front door has a password entry system, which is great but its the same for all 200 flats, so i guess half the woolwich arsenal knows how to get into the Vista Building.
The back door has no security at all and its opens up to a parking space which is left open most of the day so anyone can get in through there.

The doors on the each flats has a round porthole with frosted glass. And has only one lock on each door which can be opened from inside by turning a knob around.

So the burglar broke the glass, put his arm through it, and unlocked the doorfrom inside. The burglary was a walk in the park with the inadequate security.

I have suffered immense loss and the purpose of this ad is that nobody else suffers like me.

So if you are looking for a flat to stay (buy or rent) and dont care about being burglared, then The Vista building is the place to move in.

Otherwise, STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!

What a great idea! It makes a nice change for people to be able to enjoy time together and participate in a worthwhile cause whilst socialising and creating a good memory in the process.

Good luck with your fundraising.

I took part in the Ribbon Walk at Petworth Park, on 14 June 2008. It's a bit of a slog to get people to sponsor but I was lucky to have very generous friends and family to support me.
I thought your idea to raise funds by inviting friends to your home for dinner was great and next time I do a sponsored event - I will do the same!
