Council House - Worth a Visit ?

The council in Rayleigh, Essex is looking for a tenant for the oldest council house in Britain at a rent of £75 per week. The house is a 17th century octagonal, thatched, Dutch Cottage and the new tenant will be bound by a tenancy agreement to conduct tours for classes of school children around their home. The new tenant will in fact have to act as a steward for the cottage, generally a position which I would have thought would be paid but it seems the council are asking to be paid for the privilege !

Would you want to pay to have school children walking around your house?
